Planting Moss: Why the Tiny Plant Matters

When we decided to donate 1% of our sales, we didn't want to choose a generic charity. We wanted to focus on something close to our brand — moss. Mosses are the silent, microscopic heroes of the forest. They are the earth's natural sponge, holding massive amounts of water, preventing soil erosion, and capturing carbon at rates that rival young forests.
Our pebbles rest on moss, and our green accent colors are inspired by it. But beyond the aesthetics, mosses play a crucial role in regulating humidity and keeping forest grounds happy. Unfortunately, wetlands and peat bogs are under threat from urbanization and drying climates.
This year, our donations are funding a wetland restoration project in the Pacific Northwest. We are planting native sphagnum mosses, blocking drainage ditches to re-wet the peat, and rebuilding carbon sinks. Every purchase of a Pebble Bottle helps restore an acre of carbon-capturing green. Thank you for wandering and planting with us.
